Your license
When you buy FlipMic, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on Macs you own or control. It’s a one-time purchase for the version you download — no subscription and no recurring charges.
You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app or your download link, and you may not remove its code signature or misrepresent modified copies as FlipMic. Normal personal backups are fine.
What the product is — and isn’t
FlipMic manages the macOS system default audio input and output devices according to priority lists you configure. Its boundaries, stated plainly:
- Apps pinned to a specific device override the system default; FlipMic does not change per-app settings.
- FlipMic does not record, process, or transmit audio, and it does not install drivers or virtual devices.
- FlipMic cannot guarantee that any particular app (for example a conferencing or dictation app) will always use a particular device, and it does not repair or diagnose hardware.
We describe the product’s behavior accurately on this site; where a limitation matters, we say so on the relevant page.
Payment and delivery
Purchases are processed by Stripe, which acts as merchant of record for the sale and handles payment processing, applicable taxes, and payment disputes. After successful payment you’re redirected to a secure download of the app; the install guide covers the rest. If a download fails, support will get you a working copy.
Refunds
FlipMic has a 30-day refund policy, described in full on the refunds page. That page is part of these terms.
Support and updates
Support is provided by email at hello@flipmic.com, in reasonable scope for a small utility. Updates to the version you purchased may be provided but are not promised on any schedule; the changelog records what has shipped.
Intellectual property
FlipMic — the app, this site, and the FlipMic name and mark — remains the property of its developer. Your purchase buys a license to use the app, not ownership of it.
Warranty and liability
FlipMic is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and our total liability for any claim connected to FlipMic is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law in your place of residence grants you and does not allow to be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the developer’s place of business, without displacing any mandatory consumer protections of your place of residence.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version will be posted here. Your purchase is governed by the terms posted at the time you bought.
