- Does it need microphone permission?
- No. FlipMic sets the system default device; it never opens an audio input stream, so macOS never prompts you — and it couldn't record you if it tried.
- Does it work with Zoom, Meet, Slack and Teams?
- Yes, as long as the app is set to follow the system default device — which is the default setting in all of them. FlipMic changes what "system default" points at.
- What about AirPods and other Bluetooth devices?
- They're treated like any other device. Rank them where you want them; they simply count as connected whenever macOS says they are.
- What if I only care about my microphone?
- Leave the output list empty. FlipMic will watch, but it won't change anything you didn't ask it to.
